Allergy

An allergy is an abnormal, hypersensitive response by the body's immune system to a particular substance known as an allergen. Allergens can be anything from certain foods, to particles in the air, to chemicals. When a person is exposed to an allergen, their body will produce a variety of symptoms, such as sneezing, runny nose, itchy eyes, and skin rashes. In some cases, allergies can be severe and life-threatening. Allergies are typically treated with medications and lifestyle changes, such as avoiding the allergen. It is also important to seek medical help if any severe symptoms develop.
