Acne

Acne is a common skin condition that affects people of all ages, but is most common in adolescents. It is caused by the overproduction of oil in the sebaceous glands, which leads to clogged pores. These clogged pores can become inflamed and infected, resulting in lesions and pimples. Acne can present itself in various forms, such as whiteheads, blackheads, cysts, and nodules. Treatment of acne often involves a combination of topical and/or oral medications, along with lifestyle changes. The goal of treatment is to reduce the amount of bacteria, decrease inflammation, and unclog pores. With proper treatment, acne can be controlled and even prevented.
