Bepridil

Bepridil is a prescription medication used to treat angina (chest pain) caused by coronary artery disease. It belongs to a class of drugs called calcium channel blockers which work by relaxing the muscles of the heart and blood vessels. Bepridil helps increase blood flow to the heart and decrease the number of angina attacks. Common side effects include headache, nausea, dizziness, and fatigue.

Bepridil, formerly sold under the brand name Vascor, was a medication belonging to the class of calcium channel blockers. It was once used to treat angina pectoris, a type of chest pain caused by reduced blood flow to the heart. However, it is no longer available in the United States due to the risk of serious side effects, including abnormal heart rhythms.

Bepridil worked by relaxing blood vessels, which improved blood flow to the heart and reduced chest pain. However, it also had the potential to cause irregular heartbeats, a condition known as QT prolongation, which could be life-threatening.

Bepridil is still available in some countries outside the United States, but it is important to be aware of the risks and benefits of this medication before taking it. If you have any questions about bepridil, you should talk to your doctor.
