Yeast-Tannic acid

There is no known medical substance called "Yeast-Tannic Acid". However, here's what we can explore about yeast and tannic acid individually:

  • Yeast is a single-celled fungus commonly used in baking, brewing, and fermentation. In medicine, certain yeast strains like Saccharomyces boulardii are used as probiotics to treat diarrhea .
  • Tannic acid is a plant compound found in grapes, tea, and many fruits. It has astringent properties and some studies suggest it might have antimicrobial activity but there is no conclusive evidence for its use as a medical treatment .

Tannic acid can actually inhibit the growth of yeast [1]. This is because tannic acid binds to iron, and yeast need iron to grow. So, while they are not a medical combination, they do interact with each other.
