Napropamide

Napropamide is an acid amide (naphthoxy-acid amide) herbicide developed by Stauffer Chemical (USA), which is mainly used as a soil-active pre-germination herbicide.

Napropamide (RS)-N,N-diethyl-2-(1-naphthyloxy)propionamide

Napropamide is not a medical substance. It's an herbicide, a weed killer [1]. Here's a breakdown of what it is used for:

  • Function: Selective systemic herbicide [1]. This means it targets specific weeds and works by entering the plant's system.
  • Targets: Controls annual grasses and broadleaf weeds [1].
  • Application: Used on fields containing vegetables, fruit trees and bushes, vines, strawberries, sunflowers, tobacco, olives, mint and turfgrass [1]. It comes in various formulations like emulsifiable concentrate, wettable powder, granules and suspension concentrates [5].

Important note: Napropamide is a pesticide and can be harmful if not handled properly. Always follow the instructions on the product label and wear appropriate protective gear when using it.
