Lipegfilgrastim

Lipegfilgrastim (CIMZIA®) is a prescription medicine used to help reduce the chance of infection due to a low white blood cell count, in people with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) receiving anti-cancer medicines (chemotherapy). Lipegfilgrastim helps to restore your white blood cell count to normal levels and helps protect you from infection. It is given as an injection (shot) under the skin.

Lipegfilgrastim, sold under the brand name Lonquex, is a medication used to specifically address a condition caused by some chemotherapy treatments. Here's a breakdown of its key function:

• Purpose: Lipegfilgrastim helps reduce the duration and occurrence of febrile neutropenia. This is a condition where a patient undergoing chemotherapy experiences a low white blood cell count (neutropenia) accompanied by a fever.

Lipegfilgrastim acts like a granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF).
