Diethylcarbamazine citrate

Diethylcarbamazine (DEC) is an anti-parasitic drug used to treat filarial worm infections such as lymphatic filariasis, river blindness, and elephantiasis. It is taken by mouth in tablet or capsule form. DEC works by killing or paralyzing the worms, preventing them from reproducing and spreading the infection. It is typically used in combination with other drugs, such as ivermectin, to maximize its effectiveness.
